NB Stages - Mission Statement:
The mission of NB STAGES NB mentoring program is to provide opportunities for formalized partnerships between autonomous ASL-English interpreters already experienced within New Brunswick, Deaf mentors and newer members of the ASL-English interpreting field and transition these new members to an autonomous entry level interpreter in order to provide the highest quality of ASL-English interpreting within New Brunswick.
|
Vision Statement:
NB STAGES NB is a dynamic and inclusive mentoring program that will enhance and augment the quality of ASL-English interpreting services for Deaf and Hearing consumers within New Brunswick. By fostering unity via open communication, understanding, and a positive atmosphere we will provide a learning environment that promotes self-directed learning and professional self-discovery towards the end of a solid team of autonomous ASL-English Interpreters in New Brunswick.
|
Value Statement:
All partners within NB STAGES NB mentoring program value a nurturing and mutually respectful learning environment and as participants within this program we value self-reflection and discovery, integrity, openness, professionalism, a sense of excellence, and continual self-development in all areas of one’s life. We place great significance in the commitment and respect one must have for the Deaf Community as we commence learning and incorporating ASL and Deaf Culture into our lives. We take pride in ourselves as we strive to become autonomous practitioners and provide the highest quality of service. We hold ourselves accountable to ourselves, the Deaf community, service organizations and all stakeholders by following and maintaining AVLIC’s Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Professional Conduct.
